Help us remember our Sisters by sharing a story about a Sister who touched your life, or making a gift in their honor.
Eileen was known to her large family and many friends in SSND and beyond by many names: “Rene,” Auntie, Eileen and Sister. Eileen was a lifelong learner whose interests were broad and deep. She was always ready and willing to share her learnings with others. She loved to introduce visitors, be they in Rome or Baltimore, to local historic, religious and SSND places of interest. We remember and give thanks for Eileen’s generous spirit among us.
Sister Margarida was born in the Azores and moved to Ontario with her family as a teenager. After working for 14 years, She became an affiliate with SSND and in August 1982 she entered the formation house as a postulant. This path led to her life as an educator, administrator, and beloved SSND. Sister Margarida truly cared for others, her generous spirit and joyful presence will live on in all she touched.
Sister Marie Anna Moltz was born on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in 1921 and baptized on Christmas Day. Her desire to be a School Sister of Notre Dame started early and her long list of accomplishments speaks to her missions as a teacher, pastoral minister, art teacher, and in community service in the convent. Sister Marie was beloved by many. May God welcome her home.
In death, we say our ultimate human yes to God. Trusting in God’s power to bring us to the fullness of life, we conclude our earthly life with an act of worship: in the action of death we proclaim God as God, and ourselves as God’s creatures. We are called by God and sent by the community; we go in joy!
