How We Pray at Charlesgate Apartments, Towson, MD

Sisters at Charlesgate Apartments practice community prayer all together.

Typically, all 19 sisters from nine different buildings gather at one of the apartments for our Solidarity Prayer each month.

We take turns hosting the prayer.

The theme is usually that of the Solidarity Prayer from the SSND Solidarity Prayer on the website, often a Social Justice issue.

The scope is global, and we always strive to be educated to advocate or act in some way.

We also bring a donation for the cause at hand. For the past two years, we have been contributing monthly to sponsor a Haitian family for the Beyond Borders Family Graduation Program. (Since the cost was $2400 to sponsor the family, we spread the cost over two years.)

We also have prayer when we gather to celebrate Jubilees, holidays or gatherings for SSND topics.

I also feel we strive to "pray always" by our availability to help each other in all kinds of need!
