By Sister Paulette Doyas, SSND
We recently published a story on Chicago's Crosstown Rivalry, with Sisters divided between the Windy City's Cubs and White Sox. Today's story comes from Sister Paulette, who only has eyes for her Birds, even this year ... a year to rival any Cub fan's heartbreak. Here's her lament as we lurch toward Sunday's All-Star game!
I waited for spring, for Opening Day!
We won!!! YAY!
Ohhh O’s!
Then, Oooo O's ... we lost.
Win some, lose more, ugh!
I waited for May, to be better in May.
We won!!! YAY!
Ohhh O's!
Then, of course, it started again.
Oooo O's ... again we lost.
No roller coaster ride for me. They keep going.
I was on a Ferris wheel ... stuck at the top ... stuck halfway up ... stuck down.
June showed a glimpse of the ole “Oriole Magic.”
Now July, August and September. The end of the season.
How 'bout a Wild Card?! Anything is possible!
Like the image below, I keep hoping (left happy face) but am worried (right concerned face).
I keep up with the O’s no matter what, but I'm going one game at a time.
I’m sorry they fired Brandon Hyde. My hopes and prayers are that the new Manager sees what Hyde did (in 5 years) and tries to understand just what went wrong in 2024 and 2025. Keep Goin O’s!!
